I completed my Early Childhood Education Diploma in 2005 and worked in licensed centers from 2005 until 2015 when I opened The Discovery Garden. I have worked with ages ranging from birth to 12 years. I enjoy each age for different reasons and look forward to working with your child(ren). My portfolio contains several certificates for related courses including First Aid and CPR level C (Infant care), a current Police Reference Check for the vulnerable sector, The Toronto Food Handlers Certificate, The Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS), Reaching in Reaching out (RIRO), Handwriting without Tears, and ELECT (the Toronto preschool model). I also have experience teaching Jolly Phonics and French to preschoolers. Please see the Community Links page to learn more about these and other programs.
We spend lots of our time outdoors or at the Oak Park neighborhood center (see community links). We explore a wide range of activities based on the children’s ages, abilities and interests.
There are many ways to raise children and I would love to meet with you to discuss if The Discovery Garden is a good fit for your family and how you are raising your child(ren). I am flexible with how various issues are approached and will keep an open dialogue with you regarding how you wish to tackle childhood with your family. I am attachment and natural parenting friendly and look forward to learning how your family operates.
It takes a village to raise a child and I look forward to becoming part of your village!
